Cascades d'Ouzoud
Located 210km from Marrakech, these outstanding
waterfalls is one of the most spectacular sites in the Middle Atlas. A unique natural beauty where 3 big waterfalls fall more than 50 metres and dump water into a beautiful oasis
below. The views from above are incredible and on decent you can take your place in one of the many cafes and on some
occasions observe monkeys playing and eating around you.
Kasbah du Toubkal
This Kasbah is located near Jebel Toubkal and stands majestically at 1800m over looking a small
Berber Village
and the lush valley below. Experience a typical Berber lunch on the terrace and admire the mountain view.
The Ourika
Valley
The Ourika Valley is located
45 mins from Marrakech at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. The beautiful lush green valley and the mix of red dirt, rocks and flourishing rivers
makes it the perfect destination for a day trip from Marrakech.
Imlil
Imlil is a startling area of natural beauty located near Jebel Toubkal
at an altitude of 1740m. Relax in this refreshing atmosphere and admire the valley,
river and small villages that bound the area or take a walk along one of the many paths and streams.
Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen is located 100km south of Tangier and
is located in the heart of the Rif
Mountains where surrounding trees, hills, springs, and wildflowers attract
tourists looking for a calm getaway. It has a Spanish influence due to it's proximity
to Spain.
Chefchaouen is just a few hours away from the Imperial cities of Rabat, Meknes,
and Fez and it offers the nature lover rows of hills perfect
for hiking and outdoor activities.
Asilah
Asilah is a lovely old white-washed town close to Tangier and Tetouan. Resembling many a
place in Greece it is the perfect place
to visit to escape the mayhem of some of the larger cities. A hangout for artists, it feels as if time has stood still
as you wander the small alleys and ramparts of the town.
Tafraout
Tafraout is famed for its awesome shaped natural rock formations scattered and balancing at precarious
angles along the length of the magnificent Kerdous Valley. Located approximately 160km south
of Agadir it is well worth a visit.
Taroudant
Taroudant is a market town in the middle of the High Atlas Mountains. It resembles
Marrakech and it is said to have the best souks in the south. Populated by Berbers, who are famed for their friendliness,
it is the ideal base for exploring the region and the oasis of Tata and Aka.
Imilchil
Imilchil is a town located 120km north of Tinghir and is known for its Betrothal Festival which
is a large meeting place and collective marriage ceremony for all the local Berber Tribes.
The village is situated near very beautiful lakes and valleys and the surrounding area is spectacular.
The Jebel Sahro
The Jebel Sahro mountain range lies south of the
High Atlas range and is on the fringe of the Sahara Desert. This remote beautiful area is excellent
for trekking. The area is scattered with small Berber villages, the scenery is amazing and
it is the perfect place to visit in the winter months.
Surfing: The best time to surf in Morocco is the winter between October and March each
year. However, but with sunshine virtually guaranteed 300 days
a year along the coast anytime is a good time to visit these areas of Morocco. The most popular destinations for surfing
are Taghazout, Sidi Kaouki and Imesouane.
Taghazout
Taghazout is a few kilometres north of Agadir and is famed for being
Morocco’s surfer’s paradise.
The coastline boasts some of the best surf spots producing excellent conditions for all levels. These areas are commonly
known as Killer Point, Anchor Point, Banana Point, Hash Point, Boilers and Mysteries.
Sidi Kaouki
Sidi Kaouki a 25 kilometres south of Essaouira and is ideal for advanced surfers.
Imesouane
Imesouane is a calm fishing village surrounded by protected forest
areas and mountains. It is one hour drive from Agadir or Essaouira and a good place to surf, relax and enjoy the traditional
Berber culture.
Skiing: The ski season in Morocco generally extends from December to March with the
best snow in January. The two main ski resorts in are Mischliffen and Oukaimeden.
Oukaimeden
Oukaimeden is located in the High Atlas Mountains
near Jebel Toubkal and is about 70km from Marrakech. Oukaimeden offers the best
skiing in Morocco with 12.5 miles of runs
and many off-piste opportunities. The resort offers visitors hotels, chalets, ski rental facilities and restaurants from
which you can enjoy typical Moroccan meals.
Mischliffen
Mischliffen is a picturesque ski resort near the town of Ifrane in the Middle Atlas Mountains, close to Fes and Meknes.
It was established by French developers in the 1950’s and has modest skiing facilities.
