27 December
Arrive Marrakech.Your driver will collect you from the airport and take you to your accommodation. Depending on your time of arrival
you will have the afternoon/evening to explore the wonders of Marrakech. Visit the Jemaa El Fna Square, the Old Medina,
the Koutoubia Minaret, the Bahia Palace, the Majorelle Botanical Gardens, the ruins of Elbadii Palace where you can
see the tanners and dyers quarters, join the hustle and bustle and bargain in the souks or if you just want to sit back and
get orientated, take a position in one of the many cafe's & restaurants that border the main square and observe
the madness beyond.
28 December
Marrakech - Ouarzazate
(240 km).Early in the morning we make our way across the High Atlas Mountain via the Tizi-n-Tichka
Pass observing some of Morocco's most picturesque scenery to the oasis town of Ouarzazate. We will visit the Glaoui Kasbah
at Telouet and the nearby fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site that contains the best preserved collection
of Kasbahs in Morocco.
29 December
Ouarzazate - Todra Gorge (200 km). After breakfast we depart for Todra Gorge
via the Valley of the Roses, the "Valley of 1000 Kasbahs" and Dades Gorge. After stopping for lunch we will
drive through the impressive Dades Gorge along a route less travelled and somewhat off the beaten track where you will see
more ruined Kasbahs, cliffside ksars and amazing rock formations of different shapes and colours. The landscape is nothing
but spectacular, a deep river valley with patchwork green fields which rise steeply to road level, and beyond that a
flat desert plateau and all in the shadows of the snow-capped Atlas.
30 December
Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga (180 km). After breakfast we depart
for the Merzouga Dunes (Sahara Desert) via Erfoud. On the road you will see the Rissani Oasis before crossing the sandy track
that leads to the dunes. Merzouga village is located in front of the big dune of Erg Chebbi. From here we will
take a camel into the desert and spend the night at a traditional Berber camp and experience total peace and serenity.
31 December
Merzouga - Rise early and climb to the top of the dunes and experience
the magical sunrise and after we take our camels back to the hotel. After breakfast enjoy the Merzouga 4x4 Tour
where we visit Khamlia, an African-village. Here we will be entertained by the local community who play traditional
desert music on traditional instruments. In the evening CELEBRATE and see in the New Year by experiencing traditional
Berber music and enjoying some traditional Berber fare.
January 1
Merzouga - Ouarzazate (360 km). After breakfast we depart for Ouarzazate
via Alnif and Tazarine, crossing a vast stony plain and the Draa Valley.
January 2
Marrakech. A full day to explore this exotic city.
January 3
Your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to the airport for your flight
departure.
