Meet our Team:

 

Balthazar Tours is owned and managed by Moroccan’s.  We are experienced, knowledgeable and are a friendly Berber family whose passion is travel. Our tours and suggested itineraries are based on years of experience and we ensure that all our hotels and support services are regularly inspected.

 

Our aim is to ensure that all our customers experience the hospitality, culture and way of life of the Moroccan people.  We hope to not only touch the heart of our customers but change their soul!

 

Rachid – Founder, Balthazar Tours.

 

Rachid has been working in the Moroccan Travel Industry since he was a teenager.   He has taken many travellers from individuals to groups on tours around Morocco and has extensive knowledge of all regions in the country.  He has also worked with American and other International Film companies in Morocco and has travelled to Tunisa, Australia, Japan and major cities in Europe and the UK.

Rachid is an Amazigh Berber and is fluent in Berber, Arabic, French, English and Spanish.

 

Driss - Operations Manager, Balthazar Tours.

 

Driss is a University graduate and has completed a Degree in Economics.  After working for several years as an accountant he changed vocations and for a number of years now has enjoyed working in the Moroccan travel industry. Driss, like his brother Rachid has also worked with American and other International Film companies in Morocco.

Driss is an Amazigh Berber and is fluent in Berber, Arabic, French and speaks a little English.

 

Mustapha – Business Manager, Balthazar Tours.

 

Mustapha is a University graduate and has completed a Degree in Economics.  He is a qualified accountant and is a founding member and treasury of the Association Mqourn which assists with development and regeneration of the local area and historic sites in Tinghir.

Mustapha is an Amazigh Berber and is fluent in Berber, Arabic and French.

 

Abedllatif – Tour Manager, Balthazar Tours.

 

Abedlatif is a University graduate and has completed a degree in English Literature.  Abedlatif manages our booking system and deals with all our customer enquires. 

He is an Amazigh Berber and is fluent in Berber, Arabic, French and English.

 

Tracey - Marketing Manager, Balthazar Tours.

 

Tracey met Rachid in 2004 while visiting Morocco and has been working with him for a number of years to establish and promote Balthazar Tours.  Tracey is an Australian and with Rachid has travelled Morocco extensively.  She has enjoyed travelling the world and has a special place in her heart for Morocco, the people and its culture.

Our Drivers

 

We also have a number of professional drivers who work with Balthazar Tours and who speak a number of languages.  We aim to match the skills and knowledge of our drivers with each customer to ensure you are getting the best service and compatible language capabilities.

Our Guide and Local Hosts

 

All our guides are holders of tourism cards issued by the Ministry of Tourism of Morocco. Our Camel, mule and mountain guides are all individuals who work with Balthazar Tours and are all from the local regions we visit.

In addition to our local guides we also provide home stay accommodation, where local families have opened up their home to accommodate travellers who may wish to learn more about Moroccan culture.

 

Balthazar Tours wishes to promote tourism that directly benefits people from the desert or the Atlas Mountain regions. We work with people who live in these regions as not only do they know the local area better then anyone but in working with them we aim to contribute to the economic development of villages and provide a source of income which allows entire families to remain in their preferred environment.
